Orange County Choppers® is featured in the cable series American Chopper and has garnered worldwide praise and recognition for its custom motorcycles, which are considered by many to be “sculptures you can ride.” The show focuses on Paul Teutul, Sr. and his son, Paul Jr., as they create unique themed choppers.
OCC and the Market
American Chopper, the cable series featuring OCC, continues to be popular, particularly among 25 to 44 year old males. In January 2007, the show was moved to the TLC network as the centerpiece of TLC's "Turbo" programming block. It immediately became the highest-rated series on TLC. American Chopper is the number one TLC series for males 25-54, number two for males 18-24, and number three for overall households.
Internationally, American Chopper continues to air on the Discovery Channel. The program has a global reach, airing in over 160 countries and territories and dubbed or subtitled in 21 languages. It is the highest rated program on Discovery in United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Denmark, Argentina, Venezuela and Columbia.
The Orange County Choppers® license remains a hot commodity corporate America. This year, the Teutuls serve as spokesmen for Lugz, Godaddy, Domino's Pizza, and Hewlett-Packard. Apart for his son, Paul Sr. serves as spokesman for The Wall Street Journal and GMC Trucks.
Since the inception of American Chopper, Orange County Choppers® and the Teutuls have developed a loyal fan base and garnered the attention of national media. The OCC website averages 500,000 unique visitors and 4.5 million page views per month. In print, the Teutuls have been featured in USA Today, Time, Newsweek, TV Guide, Entertainment Weekly, Muscle & Fitness, Men's Health, The New York Times, and Brandweek.
